For your benefit, we have compiled a list of special court orders concerning rules governing out-of-state lawyers providing pro bono legal assistance to Katrina victims.


Information for Lawyers

Many states have relaxed bar rules and restrictions in order to allow out-of-state lawyers to participate legal relief efforts to Hurricane Katrina victims.

If you are interested in assisting victims in Mississippi, see the attached Order which allows out-of-state lawyers to provide hurricane-related legal service through the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division Disaster Legal Assistance Program:

Texas has issued an Order relaxing rules to allow lawyers from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina to continue to provide representation to their clients from office space in Texas:
